Hey Tony,

Yeah I’ve gotten crappy hotels. I’ll bid based on my mood and what kind of experience I’m aiming for. For example, I’ll usually bid 2.5 star in Flagstaff because I am just as happy to stay in the hostel there for $17 a day. But for my longer trips, after a week or so I need some personal space and will just pick up a hotel.

In that case, I got stuck with a Best Western that I DID NOT like. Funky smell in the room. Just really not the best atmosphere for me. When I go back, I’ll target 3 star there for the nicer, but very affordable hotels.

Thanks for the tip, Jaime! I’m definitely going to use this one next time I need a hotel. Won’t need one for my upcoming trips to the Bahamas, BC, Seattle, or SJ…

But the travel bug is hitting again (was it obvious by that laundry list?) and I wouldn’t be surprise if I need this later this year, or definitely in 2011.

Not to mention, in a few years when I can travel with my son and work part-time, we’ll have LOTS of adventures seeing what synchronicity and flow bring into our lives.
