I’m making a serious effort to come out of blogging retirement. Life has been crazy, intense, with ups and downs…but mainly ups.
I’m quickly recapping the past six months, post-fibroid surgery and pre-my new glorious life, starting with:

My brother and I took a road trip up to Flagstaff, AZ and Sedona, AZ. We had a blast. Here’s just a sampling of the magical moments:
My birthday dinner with my brother. We were getting ready at the hostel in Flagstaff and a random traveler by the name of Robyn checked into our room just as we were leaving. Cool as she was, she was easily convinced to come tag along with us! We had a fabulous time.
First stop: Sushi:

Of course when a birthday is being celebrated, most of us aren’t thinking about the camera! We’re too busy having the time of our lives.
And the night was just getting started…
Next stop: The Monte Vista Hotel where they had a band of Johnny Cash-ish type fellas whose songs all sounded like Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again” But it was great!

During their break, the singer of the band started trying to get a bit too cozy with us… but hey, here’s where it gets downright hilarious…
My brother wanted to buy me a drink for my birthday. I told him to get me a Jack and Ginger. He goes up to the bartender and says, “I’ll have a Jack and Gin” thinking that he’s actually ordering a Jack and Ginger. The bartender just kind of stares at him and says, “yeah ok man.”
Can we say worst tasting drink on the PLANET? I’ve since made it a rule that Matthew cannot order my drinks ANYMORE!
